Brooklyn Fashion Weekend at the new Knitting Factory venue (which had formerly been in Tribeca but closed and moved to Williamsburg) brought out designers like Terrie Stevens from Project Runway.
Here are a couple shots from her collection.
The models wore shoes designed by Xllent Shoes. The nascent designer is inspired by 80s track suits (thus the zippers on the heel).
Check out these cool green and black booties with the origami like huge belt/cummerbund.
Love the capelet combined with structured dress, patterned leggings and mid-calf boots.
Love the open back and short hair, but I would have covered up the butt with something flowier. Xllent’s green-soled boots are fun.
The look was circus rocker chic. Marc Jacobs and Anna Sui also did circus themes for NYFW. I sense a theme, but despite being a lover of the circus, I wonder if circus is best kept under big top, not on the runways.
The hair was very Coppelia-ballet, very similar to the Marc Jacobs show.
Other shows from Brooklyn Fashion Weekend. Hello 80s!
Hello Lady Gaga Circle-Head!
I think Brooklyn Fashion Weekend will grow and get better every year. Hopefully it’ll eventually be Brooklyn Fashion WEEK!
